Projet Development Volunteer Role Requirements

Purpose:

Develop and implement plans for various agency and community projects (including but not limited to Fundraising and Speakers Bureau Committees) with the express approval and support of VSY. These projects support and assist VSY in the delivery of an effective service to persons victimized by crime or tragedy.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer competency
  • Resident of York Region
  • 21 years of age or older
  • At least 2 years since any personal traumas
  • Provided a York Regional Police conducted Vulnerable Sector Screening Letter to VSY
  • Provided at least 3 references
  • Must have attended a personal interview with the VSY screening panel
  • Successfully attended Tier I training provided by VSY
  • Commit to at least one year of service
  • Familiarity and compliance with VSY Policies and Procedures and any and all updates, including, but not limited to confidentiality obligations and safety procedures
  • Available a minimum of 8 hours per month as a Project Development Volunteer
  • Attend all required Volunteer Meetings held the third Wednesday of every month as well as all required Project Development Volunteer Committee Meetings and events
  • Participate in all evaluation/supervision requirements
