Team Leader Volunteer Role Requirements
Purpose:
To mentor Victim Response Volunteers, act as a liaison between referral sources and Victim Services of York Region (VS-Y) Victim Response Volunteer Teams (VRT), and to help ensure that safe, effective and excellent service is provided by the VRT to VSY clients.
Requirements:
- Attended and successfully completed the VSY Victim Response (On-Scene) Volunteer Training
- Active Victim Response Volunteer in good standing with VS-Y for at least one (1) year
- Successful completion of Tier II Training for Team Leaders
- Resident of York Region
- Possess a valid 'G' driver's licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Must have a minimum of $1 000 000.00 automobile liability insurance coverage
- Consented to a Security Clearance Investigation or Criminal Record Screening
- Provided at least 3 references
- Must have attended a personal interview with the VSY screening panel
- Commit to at least one year of service
- Familiarity and compliance with VSY Policies and Procedures and any and all updates, including but not limited to confidentiality obligations and safety procedures
- Take a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per month
- Attend and participate in all required Volunteer Meetings held the third Wednesday of every month
- Attend and participate in all required Team Leader Meetings held the second Wednesday of alternate months (beginning January 2006)
- Participate in all evaluation/supervision requirements
